Star Citizen fans have plenty to look forward to this week as Cloud Imperium Games rolls out a packed schedule of events, ship releases, and community celebrations. From the highly anticipated MISC Hull B launch to the start of the Captains of Industry Free Fly event, there's something for every type of pilot in the verse.

Last Week's Highlights

Before diving into what's ahead, the community team took a moment to reflect on recent developments. The previous Wednesday saw some playful buzz around the Triggerfish, which turned out to be an April Fools' Day surprise. For those who missed the reveal, a Behind the Ships episode is available showcasing MISC's latest plans, complete with plenty of bee-related puns that may have stung those who didn't notice the date.

Additionally, the latest PU Monthly Report for March 2026 was released, providing comprehensive updates from development teams around the globe. The report offers insight into the ongoing work across various aspects of the game's development.

The Evocati Tech Preview playtest for the Transport System also recently concluded, with the development team expressing gratitude to all participants who tested the new feature and provided valuable feedback on its performance in the persistent universe.

Wednesday's Major Ship Launch

Wednesday marks the main event of the week with the commencement of Captains of Industry and the official launch of the real MISC Hull B. This dedicated cargo hauler has been eagerly awaited by the industrial community, and players will finally get their hands on this specialized vessel.

To help pilots get acquainted with the Hull B, CIG is releasing a Behind The Ships episode on their YouTube channel, along with a comprehensive Q&A addressing community questions about the ship's capabilities and features.

However, prospective captains should be aware of scheduled server maintenance on Wednesday starting at 11:00 UTC, with potential downtime lasting up to six hours. Players are advised to log out of the game and completely close the launcher before maintenance begins. Once servers are back online, the launcher should be reopened fresh before attempting to log in. Progress updates will be available through the RSI Status Tracker.

Wednesday also brings the weekly Roadmap Update and Roadmap Roundup for those interested in tracking the game's development progress and upcoming features.

PC Giveaway and LVL UP EXPO

In partnership with CLX Gaming, Cloud Imperium is launching a month-long PC giveaway with multiple entry opportunities. The promotion has special significance for attendees of the LVL UP EXPO in Las Vegas, scheduled for April 24 through 26. Those who visit the Star Citizen booth at the expo can earn substantial bonus entries, with even more available for attendees who arrive in cosplay. Full details about the giveaway will be shared soon, while information about LVL UP EXPO can be found in a recent Comm-Link.

Captains of Industry Free Fly Event

Thursday marks the beginning of the Captains of Industry Free Fly event, running from April 9 through April 20. This extended event allows players to test some of the most sought-after specialist cargo ships available in the game, providing an excellent opportunity to determine whether the hauling lifestyle is the right fit.

The Free Fly is open to anyone with a Star Citizen account, making it an ideal time for organizations to recruit new members as the verse welcomes fresh faces eager to try their hand at cargo operations.

When the Hull B Met the 30K

The comm channel crackled to life as Commander Nexus surveyed the newly-launched MISC Hull B floating in the hangar bay of Port Olisar. "Alright, 30KFUN, who's ready to take this beautiful beast on her maiden voyage?"

"I am!" chirped Rookie_Seven, the newest member of the community. "Though I have to admit, I've never flown anything bigger than an Aurora."

"That's what we're here for," said veteran pilot StellarMom, her Cutlass Black gliding into formation beside the massive cargo hauler. "We'll escort you to Lorville. Easy milk run to test out those cargo spindles."

"Famous last words," laughed TechWizard_Dan from his Gladius. "Remember last week when we said 'easy milk run' and half the server crashed?"

"Hence the name 30KFUN," Nexus replied with a grin audible through the comms. "We make the best of it. Now, Rookie, let me walk you through the Hull B's systems. First, you're going to want to..."

The next fifteen minutes were a masterclass in 30KFUN's mentorship style—patient, thorough, and peppered with enough jokes to keep everyone entertained. Rookie_Seven absorbed every detail about cargo loading, spindle deployment, and quantum travel calculations while the escort wing shared stories of their own first flights.

"Okay, cargo loaded, spindles extended, and quantum drive spooled," Rookie announced, pride evident in their voice. "This is actually happening!"

"You're doing great," encouraged StellarMom. "On my mark, we jump to Hurston. Three, two, one—mark!"

The small fleet burst into quantum travel, the stars stretching into brilliant lines around them. For a glorious thirty seconds, everything was perfect.

Then Rookie_Seven's Hull B lurched violently to the left.

"Uh, guys? My ship is doing a dance I didn't authorize!"

TechWizard_Dan burst out laughing. "Welcome to Alpha! That's the quantum wiggle. It'll sort itself out—probably. Just don't touch anything."

The Hull B continued its impromptu barrel roll through quantum space while its pilot yelped in surprise. The escort ships maintained formation, their experienced pilots having seen far stranger things in the verse.

"This is fine," Rookie said, voice only slightly panicked. "This is totally fine. We're all fine here."

"That's the spirit!" Nexus cheered. "Remember, it's not a bug—it's an unintended feature!"

They dropped out of quantum near Hurston, the Hull B somehow still intact despite its acrobatic journey. But their relief was short-lived. Six red contacts appeared on their scopes, accelerating toward them.

"Pirates," StellarMom said calmly. "Rookie, keep that Hull B moving toward Lorville. We've got this."

"But I can help—"

"Your job is to deliver that cargo," Nexus interrupted, his Gladius already engaging the lead pirate ship. "Let us do ours. This is what 30KFUN does—we watch each other's backs."

What followed was a masterful display of coordinated combat. TechWizard_Dan and Nexus drew the pirates' fire while StellarMom's Cutlass hammered them with devastating turret fire. They moved like they'd flown together for years—because they had.

Rookie_Seven focused on keeping the unwieldy Hull B on course, watching in awe as their escorts turned the ambush into a rout. Three pirates exploded in brilliant fireballs, two more fled, and the last made the mistake of pursuing the Hull B directly.

"Rookie, you've got one on your six," StellarMom called out. "Don't panic. Just keep flying straight."

"I'm trying!" Rookie's hands were white-knuckled on the controls as laser fire streaked past the cargo spindles.

"Wait for it..." Nexus's Gladius dove from above, perfectly timing his attack run. "Got him!"

The pirate ship disintegrated in a shower of debris, and the comm channel erupted in cheers.

"Landing clearance granted," crackled the Lorville traffic control. "Proceed to Landing Pad—"

The transmission cut off. Every screen went dark. The stars disappeared.

"No," Rookie_Seven whispered. "No, no, no—not now!"

"30K error," TechWizard_Dan said with resignation. "Server's down."

"But the cargo! The mission! I was so close!"

There was a moment of silence, then StellarMom's warm laugh filled the channel—or rather, the 30KFUN Discord server they'd all been automatically kicked to.

"Welcome to your first 30K, Rookie! You're officially one of us now."

"But we failed..."

"Did we?" Nexus asked. "You learned to fly the Hull B. You survived a pirate attack. You kept your cool under pressure. And most importantly, you did it with your crew watching your back."

"Plus," TechWizard_Dan added, "that quantum wiggle was absolutely hilarious. I got it recorded."

"The cargo—"

"Will be there when we log back in," StellarMom assured them. "Or it won't, and we'll do it again. That's the alpha life. But here's the thing about 30KFUN—we're not just here for the destination. We're here for the journey, the laughs, the moments when everything goes sideways and we figure it out together."

Rookie_Seven felt their anxiety melting away, replaced by something unexpected: excitement.

"So... we try again?"

"Absolutely," Nexus confirmed. "Servers are already coming back online. And this time, I'm recording that quantum wiggle too. We'll add it to the 'Interesting Bugs and How to Survive Them' guide on the website."

"Can we also add 'How to Not Panic When Pirates Attack'?" Rookie asked.

"Now you're thinking like a mentor," StellarMom said warmly. "Every lesson you learn, you pass on. That's how 30KFUN works."

They logged back in together, and true to form, the Hull B was exactly where they'd left it—spinning slowly in space near Lorville with its cargo still attached. The pirates were gone, the escorts reformed around their charge, and Rookie_Seven guided the massive hauler down to the landing pad with newfound confidence.

As the cargo sold and credits transferred, Nexus opened the comm channel one last time.

"Not bad for a first run, Rookie. Same time next week? We're testing the new Transport System, and I guarantee it'll break in creative ways."

"Wouldn't miss it," Rookie_Seven replied, already grinning. "That's what makes it fun, right?"

"Now you're getting it," TechWizard_Dan laughed. "Welcome to 30KFUN, where the bugs are features, the crashes are inevitable, and the friends are forever."

The small fleet lifted off from Lorville together, heading back into the verse where adventure, chaos, and camaraderie awaited in equal measure.
