We hope you enjoy our accessible summary of: comm-link from 2 months ago

Greetings, Star Citizen enthusiasts! It's been an exciting week in the 'verse, with plenty of updates and community events to keep us all engaged. Let's dive into the latest happenings and what's coming up in the near future.

Alpha 4.1 PTU Now Open to All Backers

The big news this week is the opening of the Alpha 4.1 Public Test Universe (PTU) to all backers. This latest patch brings a host of new features and improvements, including the introduction of juvenile valakkars. These creatures have caught the attention of many players, with some even describing them as "cute" – a characterization that has raised a few eyebrows at CIG.

Backers have been hard at work putting the new features through their paces. From testing vehicle and FPS mining updates to aligning the Hathor orbital laser platforms and trying out the new Volt weapons, the community's efforts have been invaluable in preparing Alpha 4.1 for its live release. Keep an eye on Spectrum for further updates as we approach the official launch.

Stella Fortuna: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

The 'verse is currently alive with the spirit of Stella Fortuna, Star Citizen's in-game celebration inspired by St. Patrick's Day. This event offers players a chance to earn a new Spectrum badge, participate in a community bar-crawl screenshot contest, and deck themselves out in fresh racing gear. There's still time to join in the festivities and potentially win prizes for yourself and up to four friends. Just be sure to submit your entries before the deadline next Monday!

Community Racing Events

The CruxCup's 10th anniversary celebrations are in full swing, with last Sunday's OpenGP Race Day coinciding with the start of the new Formula 1 season. Amateur racers showcased their skills across three exciting classes. For those looking for more high-octane action, the competition heats up next weekend with the ProGP series.

Con42: Community-Organized Event in Germany

German Star Citizen fans (and those willing to travel) should mark their calendars for Con42, a community-organized event taking place in Mühlheim, near Frankfurt. Kicking off with a Bar Citizen on Friday, May 17, the main event on Saturday will feature developer panels, community booths, cosplay, and more. It's an excellent opportunity for fans to come together and celebrate their shared passion for Star Citizen.

Upcoming Content This Week

Here's what you can look forward to in the coming days:

  • Wednesday: A new Patch Watch will be released, offering insights into upcoming features, improvements, and fixes not listed on the Public Roadmap.

Community MVP: NATRONIX

This week's Community MVP goes to NATRONIX for their work on "Huxley Group: Episode 7." This latest installment in the thrilling machinima series follows former UEE Army Green Beret Ava Huxley and her diverse group of contractors on their adventures in the Star Citizen universe. Fans can check out the new episode on the Community Hub.

Top Community Hub Submissions

The Star Citizen community continues to impress with their creativity and talent. Here are some of the standout submissions from the Community Hub this week:

  • "Astral Wave" by Klonyx
  • "Mining...Supply...NOT Die" by Mazzetto
  • "Under the Canopy of Stars" by Xilancome
  • "Stunning Panorama on Pyro" by Thoruka

These breathtaking images showcase the beauty and diversity of the Star Citizen universe, from serene planetary vistas to intense mining operations.

As always, the Star Citizen team encourages players to submit their own content to the Community Hub. Whether it's fan art, cinematics, YouTube guides, or even 3D prints of your favorite ships, your creations could be featured in future community highlights and potentially earn you an MVP badge on Spectrum.

That wraps up this week's update from the Star Citizen universe. With Alpha 4.1 on the horizon and a constant stream of community events and content, there's never been a better time to be a citizen of the stars. Keep your eyes on the skies, and we'll see you in the 'verse!

The Juvenile Valakkar Mishap

The members of the 30K.fun Star Citizen Referral Club were gathered in the observation deck of their org's flagship, eagerly watching the latest Alpha 4.1 PTU patch being installed. Captain Glitch, the org's charismatic leader, paced back and forth, his excitement palpable.

"Alright, folks! Today, we're going to be the first to document the new juvenile valakkars. I've heard they're quite the sight!" Glitch announced, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

As the patch finished installing, the org members scrambled to their ships, ready to embark on their valakkar-hunting expedition. Little did they know that their adventure would take an unexpected turn.

Upon landing on a remote moon, the team spread out, searching for signs of the elusive creatures. Rookie, their newest member who had joined through the referral program, suddenly called out over the comms.

"I think I found one! It's... it's so cute!" Rookie exclaimed.

The team rushed to Rookie's location, only to find him surrounded by a dozen juvenile valakkars, all nuzzling against his legs.

"Aww, they're adorable!" cooed Pixelburst, the org's resident screenshot artist.

Captain Glitch, however, looked concerned. "Uh, guys? I don't think they're supposed to be this friendly. This might be a bu-"

Before he could finish his sentence, the juvenile valakkars suddenly grew to full size, their cute demeanor replaced by menacing snarls.

"30K incoming!" shouted Lag_Master, the org's technical expert.

As the server began to destabilize, the team made a mad dash for their ships, dodging the now not-so-cute valakkars. Amidst the chaos, they couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

Just as they lifted off, the familiar "30K" error flashed across their screens. But instead of frustration, the org members erupted in laughter.

"Well, folks," Captain Glitch chuckled as they rematerialized in the safety of their org hangar, "I guess that's why we're called 30K.fun. Who's up for round two?"
