This Week in Star Citizen: June 29, 2020
The Star Citizen development team has released their latest weekly update, highlighting upcoming events and content for the space simulation game.
Alpha 3.10 Testing Underway
The big news this week is that testing has begun on the upcoming Alpha 3.10 patch. The Evocati test group is currently putting an early version of the build through its paces, reporting bugs and providing feedback. The developers say they are very close to opening up testing to a wider audience on the Public Test Universe (PTU).
Alpha 3.10 is set to bring major improvements and changes to flight and ship combat. Last week's Inside Star Citizen episode provided an in-depth look at these updates, which aim to overhaul how ships fly and fight in both space and atmospheric conditions.
Upcoming Content This Week
Here's what's on tap for Star Citizen content this week:
-
Tuesday: The Narrative Team will release a formerly Subscriber-exclusive Portfolio piece on the 6th Platoon.
-
Wednesday: The monthly development reports for both Star Citizen and Squadron 42 will be published, recapping progress made in June.

-
Friday: A new episode of Star Citizen Live will air at 9am Pacific, featuring members of the Vehicle Experience Team answering questions about the flight model changes coming in 3.10. The Subscriber Vault and RSI Newsletter will also be updated.
With Alpha 3.10 testing ramping up, it looks to be an exciting time for Star Citizen as the next major update gets closer to release. The developers encourage all backers to stay tuned for more information on when wider testing will begin.
The 30K.fun Flight Model Fiasco
Captain Jenna Lee of the Star Citizen Referral Code Club sat in her Constellation Andromeda's cockpit, eagerly awaiting the Alpha 3.10 patch. The buzz around the new flight model changes had the entire org excited.
"Alright crew, we're about to test these new atmospheric flight mechanics," Jenna announced over comms. "Remember, if we 30K, just laugh it off!"
As they entered Hurston's atmosphere, Jenna noticed something off. The ship was spinning wildly, completely out of control.
"Uh, guys? I don't think this is how it's supposed to work," she chuckled nervously.
Her co-pilot, Dave, a veteran of the RSI Referral Code Club, gripped his seat. "Maybe we should've waited for the wider PTU testing!"
The Constellation careened towards New Babbage, its crew screaming and laughing in equal measure. Just before impact, everything froze.
30000 - CONNECTION TO SERVER LOST
Back in the main menu, Jenna couldn't stop giggling. "Well, that was... something."
"Hey, at least we got some great footage for the org's 'What Code to Use' recruitment video," Dave grinned.
As they prepared to log back in, Jenna smiled. This was why she loved The Star Citizen Referral Code Club - always finding fun in the face of alpha challenges.
"Alright team, round two. Let's see if we can make it to the ground this time!"
