This Week in Star Citizen: June 10th, 2019
Last week, Star Citizen Alpha 3.5.1 was released to the live servers, along with the start of the Origin Celebration event. This gave existing backers the opportunity to test fly any of Origin's currently flyable ships for free. Players were also encouraged to participate in a screenshot contest featuring these Origin ships, with prizes up for grabs.
Looking ahead to this week:
On Tuesday, the Lore Team will publish a new Galactic Guide focusing on the historically significant Garron system.
Wednesday will see the release of the latest Subscriber Newsletter.
Thursday brings a new episode of Inside Star Citizen, providing a behind-the-scenes look at Star Citizen's ongoing development.
Friday will feature the weekly Roadmap update and RSI Newsletter. Additionally, a new episode of Star Citizen Live will air at 9am Pacific on the Star Citizen Twitch channel. This week's guest is Lead Character Artist Corey Johnson, who will provide insight into the process of creating player armor.
The Community Team also highlighted a cinematic video created by community member Narayan, showcasing the futuristic cityscape of ArcCorp. This impressive fan-made content was featured as the Community MVP for the week.
With Alpha 3.5.1 now live and ongoing free fly events, there are plenty of opportunities for both new and existing backers to experience the latest Star Citizen content. The development team continues to provide regular updates and engage with the community through various shows and newsletters. As always, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more news and reveals in the coming weeks as work progresses on Star Citizen and Squadron 42.
The 30K Celebration
Captain Jenna Starwind stood on the bridge of her Constellation Andromeda, gazing out at the bustling spaceport of Area18 on ArcCorp. She couldn't help but smile as she watched a sleek Origin 300i gracefully touch down on a nearby landing pad.
"Looks like the Origin Celebration is in full swing," her first officer, Zack, remarked. "I've never seen so many shiny ships in one place."
Jenna nodded. "It's quite a sight. But you know what's even better? Our 30K.fun Star Citizen Referral Club meetup later today. We've got a whole bunch of new recruits joining us for their first deep space adventure."
As if on cue, Jenna's comms panel lit up with an incoming transmission. "Speaking of new recruits," she said, activating the channel. "This is Captain Starwind. Go ahead."
"Captain, this is Rookie One," a nervous voice crackled through the speakers. "I'm, uh, not sure what referral code club to use when signing up. Any advice?"
Jenna chuckled. "Don't worry, Rookie. We've all been there. The Star Citizen Referral Code Club is here to help. Just focus on having fun and learning the ropes. We'll take care of the rest."
As Jenna guided the new recruit through the basics, Zack suddenly called out, "Captain, we've got a problem. Looks like a 30K error is brewing in the system."
"Perfect timing," Jenna grinned, much to Zack's surprise. "What better way to welcome our new members than with a classic 30K? Alright, crew, you know the drill. Let's show these rookies how we handle a little server hiccup in style!"
With a mischievous glint in her eye, Jenna opened a channel to all nearby ships. "Attention RSI Referral Code Club members and curious onlookers! We've got a 30K incoming. Last one to Crusader buys the drinks at Grim HEX!"
As ships of all sizes and makes began to scramble, Jenna couldn't help but laugh. It was moments like these that made her love being part of the 30K.fun Referral Club. After all, what was the point of exploring the 'verse if you couldn't have a little fun along the way?
"Alright, Zack," she said, powering up the Constellation's engines. "Let's show these newcomers what code to use when it comes to turning bugs into adventures. Full speed ahead!"
