Star Citizen Alpha 3.10.2 is approaching, and the development team would like to thank all the players who participated in testing the build on the PTU over the weekend and took part in Volunteer Regression testing. This type of community engagement has been a key element in Star Citizen's development from the beginning, as the team has always aimed to share progress openly and involve backers in the journey of creating the game.

Following this commitment to transparency, the developers recently provided an update on how they plan to share the development process for both Star Citizen and Squadron 42 going forward. More details on this new approach will be coming soon.

Last week, the Environment Art Team hosted a live Q&A session on Spectrum, answering questions about planets and organic locations in Star Citizen. For those who missed it, a recap of the Environment Art AMA is now available.

This Week's Highlights

  • On Monday, the winners of the Crew Screenshot Contest will be announced, showcasing the "best crews in the 'verse." The top guides who helped new and returning pilots through the Guide System will also be honored.

  • Tuesday brings the conclusion of the action-packed Lost Squad: Before The Fall serialized fiction series.

  • Wednesday will see the publication of a Q&A focused on the recently revealed Esperia Talon spacecraft.

  • Thursday marks the epic return of SHIP SHOWDOWN, the annual multi-phase competition to determine the community's favorite ship. Phase 1 challenges players to champion their top pick through creative means like screenshots, artwork, videos and more. This year's event features new prizes and a Free Fly period.

  • Also on Thursday, Inside Star Citizen will take a deeper look at the next evolution of Force Reactions and provide an update on Spacescaping progress for the Stanton system.

The community team is excited to see all the creative Ship Showdown entries that will start rolling in on Thursday. Players are encouraged to start planning their projects now to showcase their favorite Star Citizen spacecraft.

The 30K Showdown

As the annual Ship Showdown approached, the members of the 30K.fun Star Citizen Referral Code Club gathered on Orison's floating platforms to plan their entry. Known for their positive attitude in the face of server crashes, they were determined to create something memorable.

"What if we recreate a 30K error using ships?" suggested Captain Glitch, the org's founder.

The crew erupted in laughter. It was exactly the kind of fun, self-deprecating humor they were known for.

Over the next few days, members spread the word, inviting both veterans and newcomers alike. Many asked "What Code to Use" when joining, eager to get started.

On the day of the shoot, hundreds of ships assembled above Crusader. Auroras, Mustangs, and even a few Bengals formed a massive "30K" formation. As they posed for screenshots, the RSI Referral Code Club members chatted excitedly.

"This is amazing!" exclaimed a new recruit. "I'm so glad I found the Star Citizen Referral Code Club."

Just as the final image was captured, the server crashed. But instead of frustration, the 30K.fun crew erupted in cheers. It was the perfect ending to their Ship Showdown entry - a true celebration of the Star Citizen community's resilience and humor in the face of alpha challenges.
