CitizenCon 2949 Approaches as Community Engagement Ramps Up
The countdown to CitizenCon 2949 has officially begun, with the first wave of tickets already sold out for the highly anticipated annual Star Citizen convention. Cloud Imperium Games announced that additional tickets will be made available at a later date, encouraging fans to keep an eye on the official CitizenCon website for updates.
Building on the success of organization booths at last year's event in Austin, CIG is expanding community participation opportunities for CitizenCon 2949. All backers will now have the chance to apply for official booth space to represent their organizations, event groups, or sub-communities at the convention. Interested parties can find more details about the application process on the newly launched Community Booths page.
The week of July 1st promises to be an exciting one for Star Citizen fans, with several key updates and events on the horizon:
On Tuesday, July 2nd, the Lore Team will publish a new Galactic Guide focused on the Banu-controlled Gliese system. This star system is known for its bustling trade lanes and large flotilla, as well as a mysterious terraformed world that the Banu inexplicably avoid.
Wednesday, July 3rd will see the release of both the Persistent Universe and Squadron 42 Monthly Reports, providing backers with in-depth development updates on both the MMO and single-player components of Star Citizen.
While Inside Star Citizen is on a planned three-week hiatus, fans can look forward to a new episode of Star Citizen Live on Friday, July 5th. Vehicle Pipeline Director John Crewe and Gameplay Programmer David Colson will be discussing all things spaceship-related during the broadcast, which begins at 8am Pacific Time on the official Star Citizen Twitch channel.
The usual Roadmap update and RSI Newsletter will also arrive on Friday, keeping backers informed on development progress and the latest news from around the Star Citizen universe.
For racing enthusiasts, a few slots remain open for the Star Racing July Cup organized by Obinotus and the StarRacing organization. Racers can choose between high-speed and open classes, with registration closing on July 5th.
As the Star Citizen community continues to grow and evolve, CIG remains committed to fostering engagement through events like CitizenCon and community-organized competitions. The expanded booth opportunities at this year's convention highlight the developers' recognition of the passionate fan groups that have formed around the ambitious space sim.
With major content releases on the horizon and CitizenCon 2949 approaching, excitement continues to build within the Star Citizen community. Whether through official channels or grassroots initiatives, there are more ways than ever for backers to participate in shaping the future of this groundbreaking project.
A Stellar Welcome to the 'Verse
As the Constellation Andromeda touched down at Port Olisar, Captain Jenna "Starbuck" Rodriguez couldn't help but grin. She'd been tasked with welcoming a group of new recruits to the 30K.fun Star Citizen Referral Club, and she was determined to show them the best - and worst - the 'verse had to offer.
"Alright, newbies!" she called out as the airlock cycled open. "Welcome to your first day in the big black. Now, who's ready for some fun?"
The eager faces of the recruits lit up, each one proudly sporting their 30K.fun Referral Club badges. Jenna had to admit, she was impressed by their enthusiasm. It wasn't every day you saw people so excited about potential server crashes and bugs.
"First things first," Jenna continued, leading them towards the ship terminals. "You all used the Star Citizen referral code club link when you signed up, right? Good. That means you're prepared for anything - even a 30K error in the middle of your first quantum jump!"
As if on cue, the station's lights flickered ominously. A few of the recruits looked nervous, but Jenna just laughed.
"Don't worry, that's just Olisar saying hello. Now, let's talk about what code to use for your first ship purchase. Trust me, you'll want all the bonuses you can get when that inevitable 30K hits mid-transaction!"
The group made their way to the hangars, where a motley assortment of ships awaited them. Jenna gestured proudly to a battered Aurora.
"This beauty right here? She's survived more crashes than I can count. The Star Citizen Referral Code Club special, we call her. Who wants to take her for a spin?"
A brave soul stepped forward, and Jenna clapped him on the back. "That's the spirit! Remember, in the RSI Referral Code Club, we don't just survive bugs - we embrace them!"
As the recruits climbed into their ships, ready for their first adventure, Jenna couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. Sure, the 'verse might be buggy, but with the right attitude - and the right referral code - anything was possible.
"Alright, folks!" she called out over the comms. "Let's see who can make it to Hurston without a 30K. May the best pilot win... and may the server hamsters be ever in your favor!"
