This Week in Star Citizen: Pirate Week Returns, Alpha 4.10.1 Update, and Community Highlights
The Star Citizen universe is buzzing with activity this week as Cloud Imperium Games continues to push forward with exciting content and community engagement. From the return of the infamous Pirate Week celebration to the imminent release of Alpha 4.10.1, there's plenty to keep Citizens occupied across the 'verse.
Pirate Week 2026: Treasure Hunts and Most Wanted
The lawless side of Star Citizen has taken center stage once again with the return of Pirate Week 2026. This annual celebration puts a spotlight on the rougher elements of the universe, giving players a chance to embrace their inner scoundrel. This year's festivities include a special treasure hunt that challenges the community to crack codes and follow clues scattered across various channels.
Players clever enough to piece together the puzzle will be rewarded with a golden Pirate Week 2026 doubloon. The developers have been dropping hints through Spectrum, newsletters, and social media channels, encouraging Citizens to keep their eyes peeled for any cryptic messages. One such clue references the Pyro system, mentioning dust-choked orbit and rigs that offer no rest from the edge, directing treasure hunters to count pieces within a hologram.
Additionally, the Most Wanted contest remains open for participation. This community event invites players to capture in-game screenshots of their characters and create wanted posters complete with bounties befitting their reputation. It's an excellent opportunity for roleplayers and content creators to showcase their characters' personas and criminal enterprises.
Alpha 4.10.1: Technical Improvements and Orison Relief Support
The development team is targeting a release later this week for Alpha 4.10.1, which brings another wave of technical refinements and bug fixes to the persistent universe. Among the improvements are fixes to ASOP terminals and ship status displays, resolution of Mendo Ren's HMG spawn issues, and various other quality-of-life enhancements. Players can follow the current Public Test Universe updates on Spectrum to stay informed about the latest changes being tested.
The most significant addition coming with Alpha 4.10.1 is the Orison Relief Support event. This new in-game event tasks players with assisting in the reconstruction efforts at Orison, the floating city in Crusader's atmosphere. The event offers diverse gameplay opportunities spanning multiple professions, including resource gathering, crafting, hauling, and combat missions.
Following player feedback during the PTU testing phase, the development team has made substantial adjustments to the event. The requirements needed to complete the event have been significantly reduced, making it more accessible to players with varying amounts of available playtime. Furthermore, blueprints that were originally part of the reward track have been removed and will instead be granted directly to player accounts, streamlining the progression system.
As Alpha 4.10.1 continues to be refined in the PTU environment ahead of its Live release, work on Alpha 4.11 progresses simultaneously. The recent Roadmap Update has provided glimpses of what's coming in the next major patch, including fresh looks at Nyx III's atmosphere and the introduction of Lightning Bolt Company's new DMR, the Skarnov.
Bar Citizen Milan and Community Gatherings
Cloud Imperium Games is taking its community engagement on the road this Saturday, September 19, with a Bar Citizen event in Milan, Italy. The gathering will take place at the Titan Gaming Center starting at 7 PM, offering an opportunity for Italian Citizens and visitors to meet fellow community members and members of the development team in person.
These Bar Citizen events have become a cornerstone of Star Citizen's community culture, providing spaces where players can swap stories, share feedback directly with developers, and celebrate their shared passion for the game. The informal atmosphere allows for genuine connections and meaningful conversations about the game's development and future.
For those unable to attend the Milan event, several other Bar Citizen gatherings are scheduled for the same Saturday across different locations. Community-organized events will be taking place in Rouen, France, as well as multiple locations in the United States including Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The developers encourage attendees to share their experiences and photographs on social media to help the broader community feel connected to these local celebrations.

When Pirates Meet the 30K
"Alright, everyone form up on my Constellation," Commander Vex's voice crackled through the comms. "We're hitting this Pirate Week treasure hunt together. Nobody gets left behind."
The 30KFUN fleet assembled above Crusader—three Constellations, a Cutlass Black, and a scrappy Aurora that belonged to FreshSpawn47, who'd joined the org just two days ago.
"Reading the clue again," said Meridian, their resident puzzle solver. "Dust-choked orbit, rigs that offer no rest from the edge. That's gotta be Pyro system, one of those refinery platforms."
"Perfect," Vex replied. "Let's quantum there and—"
The universe blinked.
Every ship except the Aurora vanished in an instant. The dreaded 30K server disconnect had struck.
"Uh, guys?" FreshSpawn47's nervous voice filled the empty channel. "Where'd everybody go?"
In the 30KFUN Discord, messages exploded:
Vex: 30K'd. Classic.
Meridian: Same. Logging back in.
TechWizard: It's not a real 30KFUN op unless we get 30K'd at least once.
Vex: Fresh, stay put. We're coming back for you. That's the 30KFUN way.
Five minutes later, the fleet reassembled—minus TechWizard, whose Constellation had somehow spawned without components.
"No shields, no weapons, no quantum drive," Tech reported cheerfully. "I'm basically flying a very expensive coffin."
"Can you make it to Port Olisar?" asked Vex.
"Not before you guys finish the hunt. Go on without me. I'll catch up."
"Negative," Meridian cut in. "Fresh, quantum to Olisar and pick up Tech. Vex, the rest of us can handle the treasure hunt. Tech, you walk Fresh through the pickup—consider it training."
"Copy that!" Fresh sounded excited rather than intimidated.
The remaining ships jumped to Pyro. The system's angry red star cast everything in shades of crimson and shadow. They approached Ruin Station, its skeletal refinery structure looming against the dusty rings of a nearby planet.
"There!" Meridian called out. "The hologram display on the main platform. Counting the pieces... seven. Seven pieces."
"The seventh word in the original Pirate Week announcement?" suggested Vex.
They pulled up the message on their mobiglass devices. "Treasure!" they shouted in unison.
"Now what?" asked Raven, piloting the Cutlass.
A proximity alarm screamed. Three hostile Cutlass Blacks dropped out of quantum, their red markers blazing on every HUD.
"Real pirates!" Raven laughed. "They want that treasure too!"
"Combat formation!" Vex ordered. "Raven, you're fast—get to those coordinates. We'll cover you."
The space around Ruin Station erupted in weapons fire. Vex's Constellation took the lead, its four massive guns laying down suppressing fire. Meridian flanked right while the third Connie went low, forcing the pirates to split their attention.
"Shields at sixty percent," Vex reported calmly. "How're you doing, Raven?"
"Almost there—wait, my cargo bay door won't open!"
"Hit F then hold Y!" three voices shouted simultaneously.
"Got it! Grabbing the... oh wow, it's an actual golden doubloon! And there's a code on it!"
"Get out of there!" Meridian warned. "You've got two on your tail!"
Raven's Cutlass dove beneath the refinery platform, using the structure for cover. One pursuing pirate wasn't fast enough—he clipped a support beam and exploded in a spectacular fireball.
"That's one!" Raven whooped.
"Missiles incoming!" Vex called. "Deploying countermeasures—"
CONNECTION TO SERVER LOST
The Discord erupted again:
Vex: ARE YOU KIDDING ME
Meridian: Server crash. Everyone okay?
Raven: I still have the doubloon! It's in my inventory!
FreshSpawn47: Hey guys! We just picked up Tech. This is amazing! He taught me how to use the tractor beam and everything!
TechWizard: Kid's a natural. Also, I checked the logs—looks like the whole server went down, not just us.
Vex: New server, everyone. Let's finish this.
They regrouped in a fresh server instance. The code on the doubloon led them to a hidden cache at a derelict station in Stanton. When they arrived, another org was already there—but instead of fighting, they recognized the 30KFUN tags.
"Hey, you guys run those beginner guides, right?" their leader called over public comms. "You helped my whole crew learn the ropes. The treasure's yours. We'll cover your exit."
"That's what we do," Vex replied warmly. "But there's enough here for everyone. Fresh, you found the cache—you make the call."
"Split it?" Fresh suggested. "That seems fair."
Both orgs shared the loot, then parted ways with friendly salutes.
Back at Port Olisar, the 30KFUN crew gathered their ships in formation for a screenshot. TechWizard's componentless Constellation sat proudly in the center, FreshSpawn47's Aurora beside it.
"Another successful op," Meridian announced. "Despite two 30Ks, a server crash, spontaneous ship disassembly, and actual pirates."
"Wouldn't have it any other way," Vex laughed. "That's why we're 30KFUN. The universe throws everything at us, and we still have a blast."
"So," Fresh asked hesitantly, "same time next week?"
"Same time next week," the crew chorused. "Welcome to the family."
As they logged off for the night, Vex updated the org's message of the day: "Another day, another 30K. Another adventure, another friend. See you in the 'verse."
The Orison Relief Support event was starting tomorrow, and they'd already planned their approach—hauling runs for the new members, combat escort for the veterans, and contingency plans for every possible bug. Because that was the 30KFUN way: tackle every challenge together, laugh at the chaos, and make sure nobody flew alone.
Even when the servers had other ideas.
