This Week in Star Citizen: Gearing Up for CitizenCon 2953
The Star Citizen community is buzzing with excitement as CitizenCon 2953 approaches in less than three weeks. This year's event promises to be the biggest yet, marking the return of in-person celebrations after a four-year hiatus.
For those able to attend in Los Angeles, a limited number of tickets are still available. The event will feature two full days of Star Citizen content, including presentations, panels, and opportunities to connect with fellow fans and developers. A detailed schedule and event map will be released soon to help attendees plan their experience.
Can't make it to LA? Not to worry - the entire show will be streamed live on Twitch for fans around the world to enjoy. Digital attendees can also get in on the action by purchasing this year's Digital Goodies Pack, which includes exclusive in-game items to commemorate the event.
In other news, Alpha 3.21 has hit the PTU for all backers to test. This patch aims to address some of the connectivity and gameplay issues that have persisted in 3.20. The development team continues to work on additional fixes to improve stability and performance.
Based on community feedback, the popular Master Modes: Free Flight mode in Arena Commander will now be available permanently rather than on a rotating schedule. This gives players ongoing access to test flight mechanics that will shape Star Citizen's future.
Looking ahead to this week:
- Tuesday brings the October Subscriber Newsletter and Comm-Link
- Wednesday features the Roadmap Update and Monthly Reports for both Star Citizen and Squadron 42
- Thursday kicks off the spooky Day of the Vara celebrations and includes a new episode of Inside Star Citizen
- Friday wraps up with the weekly RSI newsletter
The community continues to create amazing content, with this week's MVP spotlight featuring Von_Clutch's helpful guide to the 3.20 keybind changes.
With CitizenCon on the horizon and ongoing development updates, it's an exciting time for Star Citizen fans. The team at CIG extends their thanks to the passionate community for their continued support as they work to bring the ambitious vision of Star Citizen to life.
The CitizenCon Connectivity Conundrum
As CitizenCon 2953 approached, the members of the 30K.fun Star Citizen Referral Code Club found themselves in a peculiar predicament. The group, known for their resilience in the face of server crashes and their knack for helping new players navigate the RSI Referral Code Club system, was determined to attend the event virtually.
Captain Glitch, the club's fearless leader, had a brilliant idea. "We'll set up a viewing party in the 'Verse!" he declared. "But what code to use to get everyone together?"
As the day arrived, club members gathered their ships in orbit around Crusader. Comms chatter buzzed with excitement about the upcoming presentations and the return of in-person celebrations.
"I can't wait to see the new ship designs!" exclaimed Rookie One, a recent recruit who'd joined thanks to The Star Citizen Referral Code Club's guidance.
Just as the stream was about to begin, a dreaded 30K error struck. Ships blinked out of existence, leaving pilots floating in the void. But the 30K.fun crew wasn't deterred. They quickly regrouped in Area18, commandeering a bar with a massive viewscreen.
As they settled in to watch, Captain Glitch raised a toast. "To bugs, crashes, and the unbreakable spirit of our Referral Code Club! May we always find fun in the face of adversity!"
The bar erupted in cheers as CitizenCon 2953 began, proving that even server disconnects couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the 30K.fun crew.
