This Week in Star Citizen: Coramor Returns, New Industrial Missions, and Free Fly Event Incoming
The Star Citizen community has plenty to look forward to this week, with a packed schedule of new content, celebrations, and opportunities to jump into the 'verse. Community Manager Lénaïc "Nicou" Riédinger has outlined what citizens can expect over the coming days, from the return of a beloved in-game holiday to exciting technical previews and gameplay expansions.
Recent Updates and Technical Developments
Last week saw the publication of the January 2026 Monthly Report, which provided insight into how development teams across the globe kicked off the new year following the holiday break. The report covered work from AI Features to Tech and Online Technology teams, all ramping up development efforts for Alpha 4.6 while establishing the foundation for what's planned throughout 2026.
Star Citizen Live also made its return with an extensive two-hour Tech Talk featuring Chief Technology Officer Benoit Beauséjour. The discussion covered significant ground, addressing last year's major milestones and this year's development priorities. Topics included Dynamic Server Meshing, Instancing, the Transport System, Long Term Persistence, Social systems, VoIP, VR capabilities, the in-game Economy, and numerous other technical aspects powering the ever-evolving universe.
On the testing front, the Evocati group received access to a Tech Preview focused on the Inventory Rework. This marks the beginning of a series of Tech Previews planned for this feature, with Crafting also scheduled for similar early testing phases. The development team expressed enthusiasm about gathering initial feedback from Evocati testers before eventually expanding these experiences to the Public Test Universe, where broader community input can help shape these systems.
