Spooky Subscriber Flair and Ship of the Month for October 2024
As the spooky season arrives both in and out of the 'verse, Star Citizen subscribers can look forward to some spine-chilling rewards this October. The monthly subscriber flair embraces the terror of space with movie-themed items, while the versatile Drake Cutter takes center stage as the Ship of the Month.
In-Game Rewards
To celebrate the UEE holiday Day of the Vara, which honors lost loved ones and confronts the fears of space travel, subscribers will receive posters for two classic spectrum vids: 'Blood Bank' and 'Parasite'. These cinematic horror posters are sure to add an eerie atmosphere to any habitat or ship interior.
Imperator-level subscribers get an extra treat with the blood-red Kastak Arms Custodian, perfect for warding off ghouls and other space horrors. The subscriber-exclusive store also features a matching Devastator shotgun and 'Hill Horror Reborn' movie poster for those wanting to expand their spooky arsenal.
It's worth noting that most flair items become available as rare in-game loot drops several months after their initial subscriber release. However, some exclusive event items remain unobtainable through normal gameplay.
Ship of the Month
The Drake Cutter takes the spotlight in October as the featured Ship of the Month. This rugged and versatile vessel embodies Drake Interplanetary's utilitarian design philosophy. With its tough exterior and comprehensive defensive capabilities, the Cutter is well-equipped to handle a wide variety of missions across the 'verse.
Centurion-level subscribers gain access to the standard Drake Cutter for the month. Meanwhile, Imperator subscribers can also try out the specialized Cutter Rambler and Cutter Scout variants, which focus on scanning and expedition roles respectively.
Subscriber Perks
In addition to the monthly flair and ship access, subscribers continue to enjoy other ongoing benefits:
- Merchandise discounts (10% for Centurion, 15% for Imperator)
- Access to the Subscriber Store with past flair items
- Early access to event tickets and concept sales
- Exclusive subscriber communication
The October subscriber flair will be available to active subscribers until October 7, 2024. After that date, these items can still be acquired through the Subscriber Store.
Whether you're looking to decorate your hangar with retro horror posters or take on daring missions in the multi-role Drake Cutter, October's subscriber rewards offer something for every brave citizen venturing into the dark reaches of space this Halloween season.
The Haunting of Hangar 13
Captain Zara Blackwood of the Star Citizen Referral Code Club stood in the dimly lit hangar, her eyes fixed on the Drake Cutter looming before her. The ship's rugged exterior seemed to absorb the eerie red glow emanating from the newly installed 'Blood Bank' poster on the far wall.
"Perfect timing for a spooky adventure," she muttered, running her hand along the Cutter's hull.
As if on cue, a crackling voice came through her mobiGlas. "Captain, we've got a situation at Hangar 13. Some new recruits are spooked by strange noises. They're asking about what code to use to join our org and get out of there."
Zara grinned. "Tell them to hold tight. The RSI Referral Code Club is on the way."
She boarded the Cutter, its systems humming to life. As she lifted off, Zara couldn't help but chuckle at the 'Parasite' poster plastered across her cockpit. The Referral Code Club certainly had a flair for the dramatic.
Approaching Hangar 13, Zara noticed an unusual energy signature on her scanners. She landed the Cutter and stepped out, her Kastak Arms Custodian at the ready.
The hangar was bathed in an otherworldly green glow. In the center stood a group of wide-eyed recruits, huddled around a malfunctioning holographic projector.
"Looks like someone's been tinkering with the Day of the Vara decorations," Zara laughed, powering down the device.
As the eerie light faded, one of the recruits stepped forward. "We heard The Star Citizen Referral Code Club was the place to be for new players. Is it always this exciting?"
Zara holstered her weapon and smiled. "Welcome to the 'verse, recruits. In our club, we face bugs and glitches head-on, always with a sense of humor. Now, who's ready for a real adventure?"
The group cheered, their fear forgotten. As they boarded the Cutter, Zara couldn't help but think that this Halloween in Star Citizen was shaping up to be the best one yet.
