Anvil Centurion: Mobile Perimeter Defense System
The Anvil Centurion is a formidable anti-aircraft vehicle designed to establish and maintain no-fly zones on the battlefield. Built on Anvil's proven Atlas Platform, the Centurion combines mobility with devastating short-range anti-air capabilities.
Key Features
Anti-Aircraft Turret
The Centurion's primary armament is a custom anti-aircraft turret equipped with four Size 4 Klaus & Werner laser repeaters. This powerful array allows it to rapidly engage and destroy airborne threats at close range. The laser-based weaponry means the Centurion never has to worry about ammunition shortages or jams during extended operations.
Auxiliary Turret
To defend against ground threats, the Centurion features an auxiliary turret armed with a Size 3 Hurston Dynamics laser repeater. This allows the crew to engage infantry or light vehicles while maintaining focus on aerial targets.
Medium Armor
The Centurion utilizes medium armor plating, balancing protection with mobility. This allows it to survive in hot combat zones while still being able to rapidly redeploy as needed.
Atlas Platform Chassis
Built on the same rugged chassis as Anvil's Ballista missile platform, the Centurion benefits from excellent all-terrain mobility and durability. The Atlas Platform provides a stable firing base for the anti-air turret.
Tactical Role
The Centurion excels at short-range air defense, able to quickly respond to and neutralize low-flying aircraft and dropships. When paired with the long-range Ballista, it creates a layered, overlapping air defense network that can completely deny airspace to enemy forces.
With its combination of firepower, durability, and mobility, the Anvil Centurion gives ground commanders a powerful tool for establishing air superiority and protecting vital assets from aerial attack. Whether defending forward bases or screening advancing armor columns, the Centurion stands ready to clear the skies of any who would challenge its dominance.
The Centurion's Last Stand
Captain Jenna Hawke gripped the controls of her Anvil Centurion, her knuckles white beneath her flight gloves. The air around Port Olisar was thick with laser fire and explosions as waves of pirate ships swarmed the station.
"This is why we need a good Star Citizen Referral Code Club," she muttered. "More defenders means better odds."
Her gunner, Leo, swiveled the massive anti-aircraft turret, tracking a Cutlass that was making a run on the station. Four Size 4 Klaus & Werner laser repeaters lit up the night, shredding the pirate ship's shields and sending it spiraling away in flames.
"Nice shot!" Jenna called out. "But we've got more incoming. Lots more."
As if on cue, her radar lit up with a fresh wave of hostile signatures. She keyed her comms. "This is Centurion Actual to all defenders. We need reinforcements! What code to use to get more pilots here?"
Static was her only reply. The pirates must have been jamming communications.
"Looks like we're on our own, Leo," Jenna said grimly. "Let's show these pirates why they call this the RSI Referral Code Club!"
As pirate ships filled the sky, Jenna and Leo fought with everything they had. The Centurion's lasers blazed non-stop, swatting fighters from the sky like insects. But for every ship they destroyed, two more seemed to take its place.
Just when all hope seemed lost, a familiar voice crackled over the comms.
"This is The Star Citizen Referral Code Club cavalry! Hang tight, Centurion. The cavalry's arrived!"
Jenna looked up to see a squadron of Hornets and Gladiuses sweeping in, guns blazing. She laughed in relief as the tide of battle turned.
"Now that's what I call a Referral Code Club!" Leo whooped.
As the last pirate ships fled or were destroyed, Jenna allowed herself a moment to relax. She patted the Centurion's console affectionately.
"Good job, old girl," she said. "Looks like we'll live to fight another day. And maybe recruit a few more pilots while we're at it!"
