Jerry: A History Half-Remembered

On the fringes of the Davien system sits the Banu Friendship Museum, celebrating the special relationship between Humans and Banu since its grand opening in 2838. While the museum sees a steady stream of Human visitors, it struggles to attract Banu guests. In an effort to change this, curator Orisaka recently revamped the main exhibit to prominently feature images of Jerry, the first Banu encountered by Humanity.

Though Jerry's name and likeness are familiar to many Humans through Equivalency curriculum, the Banu have largely forgotten this pivotal figure in their shared history. As Orisaka notes, "Preserving and honoring the legacy of the Banu who brought us together falls squarely on Humanity's shoulders."

First Contact

On June 12, 2438, navjumper Vernon Tar detected an unknown ship while searching for jump points in Davien. Fearing claim-jumping, Tar opened fire before realizing the vessel was of alien design. Inside sat Njeri, soon to be known as Jerry - a Banu who had stumbled into Human space while fleeing legal troubles back home.

Jerry had embezzled funds from their souli (Banu guild) in a failed attempt to buy their way into a more desirable position. When discovered, they panicked and fled in a stolen ship, inadvertently discovering the jump to Davien in the process.

Despite the language barrier, Jerry's affable nature helped smooth first contact. They eagerly sampled Human foods, packaging and all, much to the amusement of the assembled diplomats and scientists. Additional Banu soon arrived, leading to months of negotiations and the historic Interstellar Peace and Trade Accord of 2438.

An Outsider in Two Worlds

Jerry returned to Banu space expecting a hero's welcome, but found only suspicion from their former souli. Struggling to readjust, they eventually returned to Davien hoping for better fortunes. There, Jerry was surprised to find themselves celebrated by Humans who recognized their historic role.

Embracing their newfound fame, Jerry spent their remaining years giving lectures on Banu culture across UNE space. They formed a close friendship with diplomat Natalia Gordillo, whose biography "Jerry" became a bestseller and introduced many Humans to Banu society.

Jerry passed away in 2456 in their adopted home of Davien. Though forgotten by their own people, their actions forever changed relations between Humans and Banu. The Banu Friendship Museum stands as a testament to Jerry's legacy and the enduring bonds they helped forge between two civilizations.

A Glitchy Encounter in Stanton

As the RSI Referral Code Club ship cruised through Stanton, Captain Jenna couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The quantum drive hiccuped, and suddenly they were surrounded by a swarm of Banu traders.

"30K incoming!" yelled her first mate, Jake. "Quick, what code do we use?"

Jenna grinned. "The Star Citizen Referral Code Club always comes prepared. Engage the STAR-2H69-PWWF protocol!"

As if by magic, the glitch dissipated. The Banu ships flickered and transformed into a fleet of Drake Cutlasses.

"Well, I'll be," Jake muttered. "The Referral Code Club strikes again!"

A crackling transmission came through. "This is Jerry from the Banu Friendship Museum. Mind if we tag along? I hear you folks know how to have fun despite the bugs."

Jenna laughed. "Welcome aboard! We're headed to Microtech for some snowball fights. Care to join? Just don't eat the snow, packaging and all!"

As they quantum jumped away, Jenna couldn't help but wonder what other adventures awaited The Star Citizen Referral Code Club in the glitchy expanse of Stanton.
